New Art Series by Ken B. Klopack & Ken R. Klopack

September 19, 2017

Our current ‘Whiskey and Art’ wall features a new series – In Common : In Contrast – A Father & Son Art Showcase – by Ken B. Klopack and Ken R. Klopack, local Chicago artists, in addition to selections from Hudson Whiskey.

This father and son collaboration goes back many years in the role of mentor to apprentice in the area of visual arts. Colors, shapes, and stylistic techniques are a common bond, and yet there is a divergence in many instances using subject matter and world viewpoints.

All pieces will be available for sale at DryHop September 19 through November 13.

Ken B. Klopack:
Ken has been teaching art in the Chicago Public Schools since 1971 when he received his B.A. in art education from Northeastern Illinois University. Over the last 40 years, Ken has been active in the Chicagoland art scene in such events as the Gold Coast Art Fair and the Hyde Park Art Fair. He has judged painting for the Old Town Art Fair, Chicago’s longest running art fair. He has exhibited his work at the New York Art Expo and Galerie Hamptons in West Hampton Beach, Long Island. He has had a number of solo shows and exhibits in many group shows at local galleries in the Chicago area.

Ken R. Klopack:
Ken R. was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Both of his parents were working in CPS as art teachers during his adolescence. With his mother teaching music and his father art, being brought up with some practice in the arts was inevitable for Ken. Ken took a liking to music and art and soon found public art to be one of his favorites. Seeing the style and color involved within works and learning the history of graffiti, newer works that became known gave Ken a boost of confidence to implement similar styles back into his artwork. After attending Columbia College of Chicago for courses like traditional animation, film and photography, he started to create a portfolio composed of detailed illustrations, design work and most importantly, his mural work.
